Tutorial
Begin by completing the tutorial. This is started by speaking to Pierre at Moosewood's Beach.
The tutorial teaches the basic mechanics of Fisch, including how to cast your line, catch fish, and navigate the world.
Fishing Mechanics
Fishing
- To fish, equip a Fishing Rod and hold down either Left-Click, Touch Screen, or RT (PC, Mobile, Console).
- While holding down, a bar will appear to the right of the player determining how far the fishing line will go.
- Release to cast your bobber into the water.
Shaking
- After the bobber lands, the "Shake" button will appear on the screen.
- Each shake button pressed reduces the time for the fish to be lured.
- Shaking is entirely optional and only causes fish to be lured quicker.
The Fishing Minigame
- After the fish is "Lured" a "!" prompt will appear and a noise depending on the rarity of the fish will be played.
- This will automatically begin the Fishing Minigame.
- Holding down Left Click, Tap, Spacebar, or the A button (on consoles) moves the bar to the right.
- Releasing causes it to fall back to the left.
- The progress bar will only increase if the "Fish Bar" is within the white "Fishing Bar".
- The fish will be Successfully Caught once the progress bar is full.
Perfect Catches
- If a fish is successfully caught and is within the Fishing Bar for the entire duration of the minigame, it will result in a Perfect Catch.
- Perfect Catches reward 1.5× XP and 10C$ directly after catching.
Fish Rarity
Fish can have different rarities, which often correspond to Difficulty & Value. They are as follows:
Trash
Common
Uncommon
Unusual
Rare
Legendary
Mythical
Exotic
Secret
Limited
Apex
Special
Bait
- Bait can be obtained from any type of Crate (except for Carbon Crates and Fish Barrels).
- Bait can be used to increase or decrease Luck, Lure Speed, and Resilience for a catch.
- Some fish prefer specific types of bait.
Full Bestiary Completion Tips
- The Fish page contains the optimal Time, Weather, Season, Bait, Locations, and any Fishing Spots for every fish.
- If you find yourself struggling to catch a fish, switch to a rod with good Resilience (Steady Rod, King's Rod, Brick Rod) to make it easier.
- The Wormhole Enchantment is generally mediocre, but serves as a decent method for finding sharks from Shark Hunt events without relying on Shark Hunt spawns.
- The Fisch Official Wiki Discord can be a useful place to ask others for tips and advice on specific fish.
